Activities for Residents
We are very passionate about the wellbeing of the residents and service users in our care. It is for this purpose that we have ongoing craft sessions, ball skills, exercises, and a garden club for the residents. Some of our people have been rejected by their families and we need to fill that void by giving them a reason to be happy. Simple things make our residents happy such as being inspired and stimulated.
The purpose for these sessions is to eliminate the monotony of everyday life for the residents that live at the homes. This awakens their creative side and brings them such joy.
The craft lessons take place once a week at every residential facility. These sessions include cutting out, pasting, painting, drawing, colouring in and puzzles. These are skills that improve hand eye coordination as well as improve concentration.
Seedlings of vegetables and flowers are planted thanks to the kind donation from Sunshine Seedlings. The residents are so proud of their gardens and hard work and can’t wait to see the plants growing!
Residents have enjoyed trying out new activities and keeping fit!
OUR SPONSOR
These sessions would not be possible without the amazing gifts received from our donor, Climb Any Mountain, who are based in the UK.
Climb Any Mountain Director, Kim Danks has been so good to our organisation for many years. They have made so many events and activities possible. All of which would of not been possible without their contribution.
MEET OUR ACTIVITIES FACILITATOR SYDNEY HASKINS
Sydney took over from our previous activities facilitator Jessica Horden in July this year and is extremely busy with the residents at the various facilities. Her patience and care is exactly what our residents need. We are very grateful to have her share her talents with us and we love her energy and enthusiasm. Check out our Facebook page for regular updates on the activities that she presents.
