SOCIAL WORK PROGRAMME
The Social Work team provides services to all mentally disabled adults in the following districts of KwaZulu-Natal: Umgungundlovu, Harry Gwala.
Our Social Work Programme involves the following activities:
- Intakes and assessments
- Intervention and counselling to individual and families
- Providing training to parents and carers of Mental Health Care Users
- Awareness campaigns
- Advocacy training and employment assistance program
- Facilitating support groups and group work sessions
- Trauma debriefing and EAP counselling
- Screening applications to Workshops or Residential Facilities
- Community work development income generation projects
- Capacity building for social workers and social auxiliary work students
Corporate Wellness :
- Our Social Workers provide services to the corporate sector such as
- EAP services and counselling to company employees at reasonable rates
- Post traumatic counselling services to employees
Talks by Social Workers on
- Provide educational presentations and awareness topics on various mental health issues such as:
- Mental health in the workplace
- Stress management
Leaflets are also available for any mental health awareness campaigns

HOW TO APPLY
- Make an appointment with a social worker at the Social Work Centre situated at Jabu Ndlovu Street, [entrance is at 43 Temple Street.] Applicants are screened and given application forms for completion. The completed forms are then presented to an admissions committee for approval before candidates are admitted. Fees are payable upon application
WHO QUALIFIES
- Admission is open to the following individuals who fulfil the following criteria:
- 18 years or older
- In receipt of a disability grant
- Have a diagnosed mental disability
